My Sew Indulgent Sewing Box was so nicely curated. It comes complete with the Regalia blouse pattern from Sew House Seven, your choice of fabric, netting for the pouf sleeve cap, thread, and a needle. There were three lovely fabrics to choose from. I chose the Ochre Dotted Viscose. This fabric is wonderful; it has a glorious drape and is incredibly soft. It was nice to have two different fabric options that were both within my Calm Autumn colour palette. As I wanted a fabric that could be dressed up or down, I chose the ochre viscose, the dot pattern has a nice sheen to it which will be perfect for the holidays.
The Regalia Blouse has some really creative design features. There two lengths and a short and long sleeve version to choose from. The puff sleeves have an optional tulle head pouf which is fun and easy to make. The short sleeve option has a lovely cuff accent. It would be beautiful sewn up in a linen for spring and summer months.
The longer sleeve is gathered at the shoulder then narrows elegantly at the wrist.
The blouse features a front and back yoke and a stand-up collar. It pulls over your head and ties at the back with a keyhole opening. The bodice is gathered along the bottom of the yoke offering an easy fit that is very comfortable to wear. All of these details make the Regalia blouse interesting to sew and effortless to wear.
Sewing the blouse in a light-weight woven fabric allows the bodice to drape beautifully. The styling of the blouse makes it very versatile. It can be worn with trousers, jeans, skirts or leggings. The blouse can be worn cropped, tucked in or belted; all excellent styling options for a multi-seasonal wardrobe addition.
